Karen has been in the summer camp industry most of her life. She joined the international camp consulting firm, Camp Experts/Teen Summers early in 2000 and has since opened offices in Florida, throughout South/Central America and now into Georgia. She has visited hundreds of camps throughout the United States and into Canada, and has worked with directors of teen programs from around the world. She has spent years working closely with college counselors to help teens move successfully through their high school years using summers as a valuable part of their personal development and college resume building. Her P2P: Passion to Proficiency Program has been applauded by students, parents and those same college counselors.
Although completely versed in everything summer, Karen’s greatest asset in guiding families has been to help teach younger moms and dads the value of letting go, even for brief periods of time. She helps all of her families understand and implement the techniques of enabling independence and growth through proper preparation and selection of summer experiences. Her original writings are a valuable tool not only for selecting a summer program but for raising independent and successful children.
