Karen has dedicated most of her life to the summer camp industry. After directing a summer camp, she became a partner at the international camp consulting firm Camp Experts & Teen Summers in early 2000. Since then, she has expanded the company’s reach, opening offices in Florida, throughout South and Central America, and Georgia. She has personally visited hundreds of camps across the United States and Canada and has collaborated with directors of teen programs worldwide.
With years of experience working closely with college counselors, Karen has helped countless teens navigate their high school years, using summers as a strategic tool for personal growth and college résumé building. Her P2P: Passion to Proficiency Program has been widely praised by students, parents, and college counselors alike for its impact on academic and personal development.
While she is an expert in all things summer, Karen’s greatest strength lies in guiding families—particularly first-time parents—through the process of letting go.
